Travel + Leisure Co., the world’s leading membership and leisure travel company, has won the prestigious Resort Style Accommodation of the Year and Revenue Management Employee of the Year categories at the Victorian Accommodation Awards for Excellence.
The awards, held overnight at the Palladium on Crown in Melbourne, are an annual event to recognise the leading hotels, industry professionals and onsite amenities in the Victorian accommodation industry.
Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island – managed by Travel + Leisure Co. – won the Resort Style Accommodation of the Year Award. The 210-room resort is a mixed-use property utilised by members of leading vacation ownership club, Club Wyndham South Pacific; resort guests and private residents.
The resort is spread out over a unique setting of 65 acres of natural bushland and features an enviable array of amenities, including two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, sauna, Flametrees Restaurant and Bar, fitness centre and children’s playground. Families can try a pedal kart track inspired by Phillip Island’s famous racing circuit, while a full kids’ program including dive-in movies and a jumping castle is rolled out during the school holidays.
Guests can choose between large free-standing studio, 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom cottages with full kitchens including dishwasher, heating and air conditioning, and patio. The space between the cottages gives guests privacy, the opportunity to unwind in their own space, and allows native animals to feel comfortable drawing close to guests.
“Our guests and club members regularly praise the beauty and tranquillity of the bushland setting at Ramada Phillip Island. We believe it offers people the opportunity to relax and recharge at their own pace, and we are grateful the industry has chosen to recognise our vision for the property,” said Emma Todd, General Manager.
Meanwhile, Revenue Analyst Kylie Hayles was acknowledged with the Revenue Management Employee of the Year award. Kylie manages revenue for a portfolio of properties across the Travel + Leisure Co. network – including all its properties in Victoria, which have seen an impressive growth in revenue under her oversight.
“These achievements in the state’s highest accommodation awards are testament to the excellent work of our team across Victoria and their dedication to delivering memorable experiences for our guests. We are thrilled to have our work recognised by the Victorian industry,” said Duncan Mars, Vice President Operations, Travel + Leisure Co.
In the Asia Pacific region, Travel + Leisure Co. oversees a property portfolio of close to 90 hotels and resorts – including nine in Victoria – and develops three vacation clubs under the Club Wyndham and Accor Vacation Club brands.
Club Wyndham Ballarat, Wyndham Hotel Melbourne and The Sebel Pinnacle Valley, also managed by Travel + Leisure Co. were finalists in other categories, along with Club Wyndham Dinner Plain Resort Manager, Max Mahony.
