Clay Dickinson is Managing Director of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group, responsible for Advisory and Asset Management Services in the Latin America region. Based in Miami, Clay combines deep industry experience and a highly collaborative approach with the global resources of the firm to help clients continually improve their operating performance and to conceive, plan and execute their strategic business initiatives.
Experience
Clay has over 25 years of experience helping a broad range of public and private clients achieve their goals. His experience includes advising on over $8 billion dollars of hospitality industry transactions, producing global expansion plans for leading global hospitality companies, valuing large, complex international property portfolios, and assessing the market and financial viability of projects all over the world.
His business consulting experience is augmented by an in-depth understanding of Information Technology, an increasingly important enabler of value creation in the industry.
Lastly, Clay has vast experience in the international arena, an increasingly important distinction in a rapidly globalizing business. He has led cross cultural teams in completing assignments in more than 50 countries around the world and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Prior to joining JLL, Clay spent six years as a Principal and Industry Executive with the global travel and hospitality practices of EDS and IBM. In these roles, he developed and implemented hospitality industry strategy, while building and managing key global client relationships.
Before this, Clay spent 16 years in the industry as the Southeast Managing Partner of KPMG’s National Real Estate and Hospitality Consulting practice and as a Regional Vice President with Holiday Inn Worldwide (predecessor firm to IHG). Clay started his hospitality consulting career in the Miami office of Laventhol & Horwath.
Education
Clay earned his undergraduate degree from The American University School of International Service. He also holds several post graduate degrees, including a dual M.I.M./M.B.A from AGSIM(Thunderbird)/ESADE and an M.S. in the Management of Technology from Georgia Tech.

Clay holds leadership positions in prominent industry organizations including the AH & LA, HFTP, OpenTravel and the ISHC. He is a regular contributor to industry conferences and publications.
