Following the damage caused in March by Cyclone Debbie, the resort’s hotel and conference facilities are being upgraded, and will re-open in August 2018.
Daydream Island’s resort and conference facilities are being demolished and redeveloped with the project set for completion in August 2018. “The interest level is high and we look forward to unveiling final details of the redevelopment in the near future,” said Daydream Island’s general manager Dawson Tang.
“Once Daydream Island has reopened, there will be at least 270 job opportunities creating a huge boost for the region.”
Daydream’s Director of Sales and Marketing Jayson Heron revealed that visitors can book holidays starting from September 2018.
“We are very pleased to be able to reopen bookings for the resort,” Mr Heron said.
“The interest level is high and we look forward to unveiling final details of the redevelopment in the near future.
“We’re proud to once again become a premier Queensland destination of choice for not only holiday makers but also for weddings and conferences.”
Also to be redevelopment are the Arrivals Pavilion, Reception, Main Atrium area, Waterfalls Restaurant, Lagoons Bar, all room types and Mermaids Restaurant. The Lovers Cove function area will be expanded and a new Asian-inspired restaurant is set to be built.
