Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones said if the project goes ahead, the Tropical North GTH will need a wide range of goods and services requiring workers with a broad spectrum of expertise - from design and construction to legal and Indigenous support.
“Now is the time for potential contractors to put up their hand for the opportunity to help deliver a Global Tourism Hub in Cairns,” she said.
“We want to make the most of the proposed Cairns Global Tourism Hub for taxpayers.
“That’s why it’s important for local businesses to register their expertise which will be presented to the project's shortlisted proponents.”
The government is currently assessing expressions of interest from shortlisted local, national and international proponents received last month (September).
Interested parties are asked to complete the on-line form and their information will be forwarded to the TNGTH proponents for consideration.
