Melbourne-based developer Capital Alliance has announced Crema Constructions as the official builder of its $200 million mixed-use project, The Normanby, in Fishermans Bend.
Crema Constructions will commence work on the $200 millon mixed-use project, The Normanby in Fishermans Bend after being announced as the official builder for the project last week.
The new Melbourne landmark will house the first AC Hotels by Marriott in Australia, featuring 200 hotel rooms alongside 100 one, two and three-bedroom, private residential homes.
Each private residence will be provided with exclusive access to all amenities offered by the hotel, including concierge services, infinity pool, gymnasium, restaurant, and bar, as well as room service and housekeeping.
Mohan Du, Founder and Chief Executive of Capital Alliance, said the company were excited to bring the hotel offering to the former industrial precinct, Fishermans Bend, nested within the CBD, Southbank, Port Melbourne and South Melbourne.
“Not only are we bringing the first AC Hotels by Marriott to Australia, but this will be the first hotel in the entire precinct.” he said.
“This appointment strengthens our view that although economic fundamentals have drastically changed for the industry, there is still life for projects that are carefully thought through.”
The Normanby is scheduled for completion in early 2021.
Crema Constructions Director Christian Crema said the company was excited to get started.
”Crema is looking forward working with reputable groups, like Capital Alliance and Marriott in delivering to the expectation and high standard of their projects," he said.
"With our in-house concrete and production operations nearby, we will be delivering on program and quality expectations too."
Marriott International Asia Pacific Senior Director Richard Crawford was pleased to introduce AC Hotels by Marriott to the Australian market in the up-and-coming precinct.
“This milestone signals Capital Alliance’s commitment to the realisation of what will be a defining development for this rapidly emerging precinct of Melbourne city. Marriott’s ability to gain new quality hotel footholds is dependent on forging strong relationships with developers with the capacity and vision to get the job done – and Capital Alliance continue to prove their credentials for doing just that," he said.
“We are thrilled that Capital Alliance have presented Marriott with opportunity to introduce AC Hotels to Australia, where the brand’s hallmarks of European design and understated style will bring a new personality to Melbourne’s hotel landscape.”
This new city landmark will lead the way for Australia’s largest urban renewal precinct, Fishermans Bend, that the Victorian government has predicted will house 80,000 residents and 80,000 workers by 2050.
The University of Melbourne has already announced a future campus in the area, and with plans in discussion for new tram and train lines, Fishermans Bend is and will become Melbourne’s new hub for employment, residential, lifestyle, and education.
