A new shuttle service has been launched to provide daily transfers between Newcastle Airport, the Newcastle CBD and Hunter Valley.
Newcastle Airport now has a new shuttle service available for travellers.
The daily Newcastle Airport Shuttle provides transfers between Newcastle Airport, the Newcastle CBD and Hunter Valley, while also catering for conference and incentives, weddings and groups attending events to the Hunter Valley Conference & Events Centre.
The Mercedes Benz bus is the only regular shuttle service operating out of Newcastle Airport and has the capacity to carry up to 54 passengers.
Owner and leading Hunter Valley tourism and hotel entrepreneur, Dr Jerry Schwartz, said the new service would be particularly beneficial for the Hunter Valley as it will help provide a seamless service for groups, families and couples.
“Newcastle Airport has grown its routes significantly in recent years, adding international to its domestic network, but ancillary services to support the tourism growth have lagged behind," he said.

"The new Newcastle Airport Shuttle will really help us attract more visitors to the region.
“It will also allow the option of adding a visit to the Hunter Valley for visitors and groups staying in Newcastle.
“Starting a bus service has been a priority of mine for a number of years because the lack of such services has clearly disadvantaged the Hunter Valley region, especially in the conferences and groups market sector."
Timed to connect with the airport at peak arrival/departure times, the bus service leaves the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley at 11am each morning calling into the Newcastle Interchange, Novotel Newcastle, and Rydges Newcastle before arriving at Newcastle Airport at 1.25pm.
It then picks up passengers and depart the airport at 2.10pm first servicing Newcastle and then the Hunter Valley.
Dr Schwartz said that his affiliated Blue Sky Airways, which operated out of Cessnock Airport, could also organize air transfers from Newcastle Airport to Cessnock, as well as sightseeing tours over the Hunter.
"We will look to expand the services, but for the meantime we will assess how it goes and look again at schedules after six months," he said.
