A new hotel and rooftop restaurant have been added to plans for the Banyan Tree Residences at Kangaroo Point.
Plans for an 11-storey residential development at Brisbane's Kangaroo point have been reconfirgured to include short-term accommodation and a new rooftop restaurant.
The Banyan Tree Residences Brisbane at 8 River Terrace was initially intended to incorporate 76 units when it was first proposed in 2014, before being changed to offer 100 apartments in 2018.
Speaking at the launch of the project in 2016, Banyan Tree Executive Chairman Ho Kwon Ping said the development would "set a new benchmark" for luxury residential accommodation in Australia.

Further alterations have now been made to the development application for the project, including the introduction of short-term accommodation on levels 1-3, expanding the number of units to 128, while also reducing the available car spaces form 172 to 132.
Other amendments include the rearrangement of rooftop space to incorporate a new restaurant, as well as seperate short-term and resident communal spaces, and a newly designed landscap at ground and rooftop.
The updated plans have so far recieved mixed response from the community, with multiple submissions opposing the changes.

One resident argued that the inclusion of both short-term and a partial hotel would increase traffic and congestion, while at the same time "putting a strain on facilities in the area."
Another argued the views from the Knagaroo Point would encourage people to book the short-term accommodation for weekend parties, increasing noise pollution in the area.
The plans remain out for public consultation.
