Hilton Surfers Paradise has revealed the first stage of a planned $9 million refurbishment which includes the hotel doubling its capacity for meetings.
Hilton Surfers Paradise has bolstered its business capability with the first stage of a $9 million refurbishment, unveiling a new full-service Executive Lounge, and an additional nine executive guest rooms on its 15th floor.
The project represents the largest makeover the hotel has seen in its eight-year history and includes the reinvention of its lobby and the installation of a casual bar/ all day dining area and an art gallery.
Hilton Surfers Paradise Commercial Director, Max Houri said the first stage of this multi- million-dollar project was supporting the hotel’s capacity to cater for the city’s conference and events industry.
“The business events space is worth around $540 million a year for the Gold Coast and we are committed to doing all we can to attract even more domestic and international groups to our city," he said.

“We’re working with Destination Gold Coast to encourage as many delegates as possible to hold their business events in Surfers Paradise, considering this segment of the tourism industry plays a vital role in boosting the local economy,”
“Our refurbishment has seen us double our meeting rooms to four spaces including the brand new Promenade Room with plans to grow that number even further in the near future."
Catering for up to 160 guests, the Promenade Room is a versatile and pillar-less space with state-of-the-art audio visual technology, encompassed by natural light from large circular windows that overlook the energy of Surfers Paradise.
Another eagerly anticipated addition to the hotel is its new Executive Lounge, with the previous lounge being converted into a further nine executive guest rooms on level 15 of the hotel.
Hilton Surfers Paradise General Manager, Fiona Pryde told WILLIAMS MEDIA the features had allowed the hotel to "make some noise" in an otherwise quiet time.
“We've been really lucky that the owners have committed long-term to the hotel and the Gold Coast market,” she said.

"We've always had an executive lounge and we really wanted to add additional guest rooms.
"Half of one guest floor was an executive lounge so we ended up converting that back to guest rooms and building the executive lounge on the pool deck, so it could become an exclusive, alfresco area."
Ms Pryde added said aligning the design of the hotel to its location was "at the heart of the refurbishment".
"As the only hotel on the Gold Coast that offers a full-service Executive Lounge, our executive visitors love the opportunity to enjoy their own personal space,”
“The new lounge embodies the coastal feel of the Gold Coast, a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor spaces ensuring those lucky enough to visit this special area are able to unwind amid luxury and seclusion.”
“With a combination of hotel rooms, executive guest rooms and one to four bedroom Residences, Hilton Surfers Paradise has the perfect blend of accommodation to suit couples, families and corporate travellers alike.”
Plans for the revamped lobby are also in the final design stage featuring a new bar / all day dining area and a new art gallery is almost complete.
