The Turangi Leisure Lodge on the southside of New Zealand's Lake Taupo is for sale through Gordon McGregor and Zane Cozens from Bayleys Hotels, Tourism and Leisure.
New Zealand's North Island has an abundance of natural attractions but only Turangi offers the combination of tourism, trout and Lake Taupo.
The defining characteristics of the lakeside town form the foundation of the Turangi Leisure Lodge, which is currently being offered for sale through Bayleys Hotels, Tourism and Leisure.
Consisting of 38 accommodation units spread across nearly 9,000 square metres, 21 Ngawaka, Turangi incorporates an 18-unit hotel-complex constructed in the mid-80s, as well as a management unit (Unit 19) that includes the main administrative centre together with office, the manager's residence, restaurant/bar facilities, communal areas and amenities.
The remainder of the accommodation is a mix of self-contained two and three-bedroom units, all of which are laid out across a 62 square metre floor area.

While the venue is currently operating as a timeshare resort, the owners have obtained High Court permission to collapse the current structure and sell as a single entity.
Gordon McGregor from Bayleys Auckland Central, who has been enlisted to market the property with Zane Cozens, told WILLIAMS MEDIA the sale was an opportunity to shape the venue's future.
"The self-contained units have a variety of alternative uses," he said.
"The venue could be transformed into a training centre, clinic, but would also continue to work well as a hotel, given the mix of options available.
"There is plenty of flexibility."
Communal facilities at the lodge include a swimming pool, spa pool, laundry, recreation room, mini-putt, barbecue areas, as well as a generous-sized portico attached to the main side of the administration building.

The location of Turangi on the south side of the trout-rich Lake Taupo also creates an added incentive for anglers.
Mr McGregor said while the town had built up a global reputation as a trout hotspot, its visitors did not just come to fish.
"It's an adventure capital," he said.
"The lodge is an ideal base for hiking adventures into the Tongariro National Park, with shuttles to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

"It's also just 40 minutes from the Whakapapa ski area on Mount Ruapehu and about five minutes from Tokaanu's thermal hot pools.
"Other attractions include Tongariro River Trail, which is one of the region's most picturesque mountain bike trails."
Turangi Leisure Lodge is for sale by tender closing 4pm on Thursday, September 10.
