Ascott's lifestyle hotel brand, lyf, is coming to Australia with a new location within Collingwood's C&L development.
Melbourne's inner north is set to welcome a new millenial-focused hotel, with the announcement that Ascott's lyf brand is coming to the area.
Slated to open in 2022, the 105-room lyf Collingwood Melbourne will be situated at 42 Oxford Street within Urban’s C&L development.
The new venues will offer ensuite units comprising ‘One of a Kind’ studios and ‘Two of a Kind’ apartments designed to offer privacy and flexibility.
Residents who form an integral part of the lyf community have access to a weekly curation of talks, masterclasses and even guided neighbourhood tours – all of which are conducted either in-person or virtually by its team of lyf Guards.

The concept is an offshoot of Singapore-based company, Ascott, which has a portfolio spanning more than 180 cities across over 30 countries throughout the Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA.
The company’s serviced residence and hotel brands also include Ascott The Residence, Somerset, Quest, Citadines, Citadines Connect and more. Currently, Ascott has over 14,000 units in 165 properties across eight cities in Australia.

Ascott General Manager for Australia, Kenneth Rogers, said the launch of lyf in Australia would allow the company to cater to the growing social generation who values being part of a community.
"lyf Collingwood Melbourne is designed for guests on medium to long stays with the flexibility to take in short stays," he said.
"It is situated in a prime location with many technopreneurs, startups and professionals from the creative industries in the area."
The surrounding C&L residences, which are currently being developed as a joint venture between Urban, Hamilton Marino and CHT Architects, will occupy triple street block on Cambridge, Langridge and Oxford Streets.
The development comes with immaculate sustainability credentials, including a 70 per cent Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard, and is set to feature a retail component, along with residences and lyf’s coliving hotel brand.
Urban Director, Bart O’Callaghan said lyf was well suited to the area.
