Northern Tasmania's newest boutique accommodation experience, Hotel Verge, will welcome guests from this week as residents around the state look for more ways to explore their own backyard.
Tasmanians will be treated to new views of Launceston from Wednesday as Hotel Verge opens its doors.
Siutated on the corner of Cimitiere and Tamar Street in Launceston, the venue is expected to appeal to both the business and leisure markets due to its position on the fringes of the CBD.
The launch of the hotel coincides with the state government's $7.5 million Tasmanian Make Yourself at Home voucher incentive scheme, by which Tasmanians can register online to get up to $150 in accommodation vouchers and/or tourism experience vouchers between 7 September 2020 and 1 December 2020.

Hotel Verge General Manager Kate Bucknell told WILLIAMS MEDIA there had so far been an enthusiastic response from the surrounding communities to the new accommodation.
"We have been absolutely thrilled with the local support of Hotel Verge," she said.
"Whilst borders aren’t yet open, we’ve been inundated with bookings from business and leisure guests.
"This level of support is backed by the fact that the project is designed, built, owned and operated by fellow Tasmanians.
"We look forward to when our borders do open and we can share such a unique product to national & international travellers."

Developed in collaboration with Stay Tasmania and the Launceston City Council, Hotel Verge features an industrial luxe design influenced by precinct’s heritage.
The 86-room hotel includes include spacious, well-appointed hotel rooms, two meeting spaces for up to 100 people, gym and guest laundry, as well as the Diverge in-house restaurant, which will offer a daily la carte breakfast from Thursday 17th September ahead of a full-service later in the year.
Stay Tasmania Managing Director Lyndon Jago said the development was able to "promote the very best of Tasmania" by using local architects and builders, contributing to the personalised experience for every guest.
“The Council was keen to promote the development and agreed to sell the land to enable the construction," he said.
"The Council provided planning guidance to produce a product, which I have no doubt, will be acknowledged nationally as exceptional."
