A ribbon-cutting ceremony ten years in the making was held in Sydney on Wednesday as the new Crowne Plaza hotel at Darling Harbour officially opened its doors.
Sydney’s CBD welcomed back InterContinental Hotels Group's Crowne Plaza brand on Wednesday following a ten-year hiatus.
Standing 13-storeys tall, Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour is situated on the corner of Bathurst and Sussex Street and features 152 guestrooms which are divided into four distinct zones – a desk space for work, a sofa area to unwind, king size beds for a good night’s sleep and well-lit, spacious bathrooms replete with Antipodes amenities.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian was joined by representatives from the Accommodation Association, Tourism Australia, Tourism & Transport Forum and DNSW for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the venue.

Managing Director of IHG Australasia & Japan, Leanne Harwood, said the opening was a strong show of unity and an indication of everyone’s willingness to get the industry moving again.
