Reward Group is set to refresh the heritage-listed Park Hyatt Canberra.
The Park Hyatt Canberra is currently working with Reward Group to refresh the 252 guestrooms in the heritage-listed hotel. Works will be stages over a number of months to ensure the least amount of guest disruption. Refurbishments are currently underway and will be completed in early 2022.
The Park Hyatt Canberra, formerly known as the Hotel Canberra, was opened in 1924 and was the first hotel to open in Canberra. Located on the central axis of the Parliamentary Triangle, it housed many politicians during its time and even housed James Scullin when he became Prime Minister in 1929. Hyatt Hotels acquired the opened in 1988 to become the only international five-star hotel in Canberra at the time.
Jimmy Lee from Reward says Reward Group are working with the Park Hyatt to ensure the historic elements of the property are maintained while introducing contemporary soft finishes.
