Marriott's millennial-focused Moxy brand will make its New Zealand debut in Queenstown following the signing of an agreement at the end of last year.
New Zealand will welcome a new millenial-focused hotel experience from 2022 after Marriott signed an agreement with owner and developer Queenstown Central Limited to bring its Moxy brand to the country.
The signing confirms Moxy as Marriott's fastest growing brand in Australia and New Zeland, following the announcement of Moxy Melbourne South Yarra in February, and Moxy Perth in July.
There are currently 46 Moxy hotels operating throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Marriott International Director of Hotel Development for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Richard Crawford, said the brand's increasing presence highlighted the changing needs of travellers.
“The signing of Moxy Queenstown and the recent growth of the Moxy Hotels brand in Australia and New Zealand is reflective of what travellers want today – an accommodation experience, rather than simply a hotel room," he said.
"Experience is driving travel both in New Zealand and globally, and the idea of a hotel delivering a lifestyle, an experience, a story is increasingly sought after by visitors,”
Moxy Queenstown is expected to be conveniently located adjacent to Queenstown International Airport, near the banks of the Kawarau Falls Scenic Reserve and at the gateway to the region’s acclaimed ski fields, such as The Remarkables.
It will open within Queenstown Central, a mixed-use development located on Grant Road, in the heart of Frankton.
Signature features of the brand include the Moxy Bar, the Moxy Kitchen & Pick-Ups, the Moxy Library and the Moxy Living Room, which is designed as a space where guests can relax and socailise.
Queenstown Central spokesman Simon Holloway said the brand was a natural fit for the site.
"Moxy Queenstown will be integrated into the next stage of our Queenstown Central development, extending the offering of specialty retail and office space, to that of accommodation, nightlife and culture," he said.
