Colliers International’s Hotels division continues to negotiate key management agreements across the country.
Several new hotels are on the horizon for the Australian marketplace, with Colliers International announcing a new five-star offering for Docklands in the near future, reviewing the proposed hotel offering at a major Victorian shopping centre, and executing agreements with InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott and TFE.
Colliers International’s associate director for Hotels, Guy Wells, said the company continued to be the agent of choice for numerous land owners and developers looking to building hotels in Australia’s capital cities.
“Several of our clients have been engaging our team to undertake the ‘operator selection’ process,” he said. “This process identifies key hotel management companies with brands and capabilities that align with our clients’ needs and expectations.”
Colliers International’s Hotel specialists are drawn from all sectors of the industry, including investment, operations, valuations, asset management and management company leadership, allowing the company to view individual projects from a client’s perspective.
“This helps us to understand the implication of key terms in the financing and value of a completed project,” Mr Wells said.
Colliers International has recently announced the expansion of the QT Hotels & Resorts brand (EVENT Hospitality & Entertainment) into the Parramatta marketplace, which will be developed by Coronation Property Group and mark the area’s first five-star hotel.
Colliers International has also selected a five-star hotel for Melbourne’s Docklands region, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
In addition, in recent months the Hotels product line has executed agreements with a broad cross-section of management companies for several hotel offerings across the country.
“With an increasing number of hotel proposals and growth in tourism across the country, particularly from Chinese and Asian tourists, the ability of a brand to have penetration and market recognition in source locations is becoming more of a focus for operators and owners alike,” Mr Wells said.
“If you are considering a proposal to develop a hotel or want to understand the operation of a hotel asset, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Colliers International Hotels team members.”
