Voice-controlled smart hotel rooms
Today’s consumers have grown accustomed to the convenience voice assistants bring to their daily lives. To offer greater comfort for guests, Kāmana Lakehouse incorporated voice recognition technology in its digital infrastructure across all 73 ensuite rooms.
In each of the rooms, the Wi-Fi capability was upgraded and a smart automation system that integrates with a voice assistant was set up. Through simple voice commands, guests can control room settings such as the temperature, the lighting in different areas of the room and the volume of the TV.
Voice-controlled automation also brings greater convenience for hotel staff alike. For example, when housekeepers finish cleaning a room, instead of having to go around to switch off the air conditioning and lighting manually, there is a useful voice command they can use to let the voice assistant know that the room is ready which will turn off all settings automatically. This helps housekeepers move onto their next tasks quickly, improving both staff productivity and the overall energy management.
