Fable Hotels & Resorts has added another property to its 5-star portfolio with the addition of Canterbury’s iconic Terrace Downs Resort, set to officially open as Fable Terrace Downs Resort tomorrow, Tuesday 8 March 2022.
Located only an hour’s drive from Christchurch and nestled in the shadow of the picturesque Mount Hutt and the Southern Alps, the luxury resort features a prestigious 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, restaurant, conference and event facilities, activity centre and 25 luxury one, two or three bedroom Villas.
CPG Group Operations Manager, Ronnie Ronalde, says the opening of Fable Terrace Downs Resort, the third property in the South Island under the Fable brand, signals a new chapter for this well-known property, and guests can expect to receive the full 5- star Fable experience when visiting.
“This resort has a rich legacy in this area and we’re looking forward to elevating Fable Terrace Downs Resort even further to become the premier luxury resort in the Canterbury region. World-class facilities and breathtaking scenery lends this resort perfectly to celebrations, conferences and events, are a key focus for our specialist team,” says Mr Ronalde.
The par-72 Terrace Downs golf course designed by Sid Puddicombe has been ranked by New Zealand Golf magazine in the country’s top five courses, while views over the Southern Alps and the Rakaia Gorge make it a truly unique scenic alpine course. A driving range and plenty of activities are also on offer including horse riding, archery and clay bird shooting.
Adding to the experience is The Clubhouse Restaurant, open daily for breakfast and all-day dining until late. The menu is focused on local inspiration, whole foods and sustainable produce grown and raised locally in the Terrace Downs region, including native oyster mushrooms from Shandys Wholesome Living in Sheffield and bocconcini from Wairiri Buffalo Cheese in Malvern to name a few.
Fable Terrace Downs Resort has appointed New Zealander Ryan Crocker as General Manager who brings with him over 12 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry. Ryan is excited to be leading the first Fable Resort property in the group and building on Fable’s presence in the region.
The property is set to undergo a full refurbishment, commencing soon.
