Muri beach will soon be home to the latest Moana Sands development, joining Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel and Moana Sands Beachfront Villas situated in Titikaveka and Vaimaanga beaches respectively.
The addition of Moana Sands Lagoon Resort has resulted in the establishment “Moana Sands Group”, which encompasses all three distinctively separate properties under one collective branding.
Moana Sands Group properties are part of the Pacific Resort Hotel Group (PRHG) Partner Hotel Program, a partnership allowing independent properties to work with PRHG to help maximize profitability by tapping into PRHG’s best-practice operating systems, sophisticated distribution methodologies and leading management acumen.
Moana Sands Group newest addition is the direct result of tourism growth and the demand for quality mid-range accommodation in the Cook Islands. Moana Sands Group properties will now provide travellers with an even larger range of accommodation options including suites, studios, villas and apartments.
Moana Sands Lagoon Resort will feature 24 Deluxe Lagoon Studios, each tastefully decorated with a modern Polynesian flare. The resort is also set to have its own onsite restaurant, bar and feature a large swimming pool and lounging deck.
The construction of this third Moana Sands property is already well underway at its Southern Muri location and on track for opening in late 2017.
The resorts architecture and design, by Swan Railley Architects Limited, aims to utilize as much local talent, manpower and materials as possible during the development of the new property.
Upon completion Moana Sands Lagoon Resort is set to be placed at the top end of the 3.5 star market providing consumers with quality mid-range accommodation.
Along with Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel & Villas; Moana Sands Lagoon Resort will also be under the management of General Manager, Wayne Sheard who has commented that “The timing for the opening of the Resort is ideal for a soft launch leading into our 2018/19 season. The growth in our tourism numbers has created a demand for superior mid-range hotel accommodation and we are working to fulfill that”.
Managing Director and Owner, Iaveta Short, also commented on the development of Moana Sands Lagoon Resort saying; “This is a family enterprise; we were one of the first to embrace the tourism industry fifty years ago and are excited about the new Lagoon Resort. It will complement our existing Beachfront Hotel & Villas and I am confident our management team under Wayne Sheard will add that unique Island touch which has become a hallmark of the Moana Sands Group.“
In anticipation of opening, Moana Sands Lagoon Resorts guests are expected to be able to pre-book Deluxe Lagoon Studio accommodation at NZ$440 a night. Further updates and pre-booking information to come at a later date.
