World’s largest hotel franchising company signed over 120 hotels across Asia Pacific in the first half of 2024, opened 74 new hotels and registered 8% Y-O-Y net room growth, equivalent to 15,100 rooms.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with 25 brands and approximately 9,200 hotels, registered record growth across Asia Pacific, unveiling today the region’s results from the first half of 2024.
Among the highlights: the Company signed more than 120 hotels, opened 74 new hotels and registered 8% Y-O-Y net room growth, equivalent to 15,100 rooms.
Wyndham’s strong performance, including a record number of signings in the region, is underpinned by the return of travel across Asia Pacific and positions the Company for continued growth in the region.
According to the International Air Transport Association, total global passenger demand rose 11% compared to May 2023. In particular, Asia Pacific recorded the highest growth of international passenger traffic at 27%, with Asian routes sustaining double digit growth, exemplifying the continual demand of international travel both within and from the region.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association has also projected international visitor arrivals into Asia are predicted to continue trending upwards to the 2019 level by the end of 2026.
Strong intra-regional demand, coupled with the relaxation of Chinese visa policies and the rapid recovery of China’s domestic tourism, highlight the upward trajectory for the Asia Pacific travel and hospitality industry.

In the first half of 2024, Wyndham saw a 22% increase in the number of hotels signed across Asia Pacific compared to 2023 driven by strong growth in Mainland China, where the Company signed 104 hotels.
