The leasehold of accommodation and event business Bathurst Goldfields sold negotiated by ResortBrokers’ Central West NSW broker Chris Kelly and Managing Director Trudy Crooks.
ResortBrokers’ Central West NSW broker Chris Kelly and Managing Director Trudy Crooks have settled the leasehold sale of accommodation and event business Bathurst Goldfields.
Steve Pearce of Adelaide-based Parkwood Retreats acquired a new 35-year lease on the property which overlooks the iconic Mount Panorama racetrack.
Set over 11 hectares, Bathurst Goldfields is a unique heritage-inspired property incorporating a wide range of accommodation for up to 300 people, large-scale conference, wedding and function venues, accredited educational programs, tours and a souvenir shop.
ResortBrokers says the sale comes amid enormous buyer interest in regional leaseholds.
“In calendar year 2024, ResortBrokers received an average of well over 400 enquiries on leasehold opportunities every month, particularly regional leaseholds — more than any other accommodation asset type,” says Trudy Crooks.
“The smart money is investing in regional accommodation where prices are lower and yields are better.”
“ResortBrokers takes the time to understand our buyers’ investment priorities,” says Chris Kelly.
“Steve has great experience and expertise in the MICE space and was after an accommodation asset with an events’ component. He was also looking for a regional leasehold that offered cashflow rather than the capital growth that comes with a freehold. And he wanted a property that could be run under management which would allow him to remain in Adelaide to develop his business there. Bathurst Goldfields was ideal for him.”
