After a transformational $5m renovation, The Telegraph Hotel will re-open its doors on Monday 12th September.

The renovation delivers a revitalised ground floor public bar, a stylish first floor dining room and inviting rooftop terrace which overlooks Hobart’s waterfront. Bookings are now open for the dining room & rooftop terrace.

The rooftop terrace is sure to become a popular spot for locals and tourists to unwind while soaking up the atmosphere of the bustling harbour below, offering stellar views of Sullivan’s Cove and beyond. The weather-proofed terrace includes retractable roof coverings and heating, ensuring a cosy experience for visitors at any time of the year.

The new menu from Executive Chef Christian and Head Chef James Chaston offers favourite pub classics alongside modern, produce-driven dishes that make the most of Tasmania’s local ingredients.

Menu highlights include the 300g Free Range Nicholls Chicken Parmi and Fries, Cape Grim Beef Pie with Mash and Mushy Peas, Fired Eggplant and Mozzarella Pizza and Meander Valley Cream Panna Cotta.

Hungry Tasmanians looking to treat themselves to a few extra bites can opt for the ‘Feed Me Menu’ which is available in the first floor dining room and features a selection of the chef’s favourite dishes from the menu.

Local whiskey, beer and wine will be right at home in the bar, alongside a quality range of popular Australian and international drops.

Behind the bar, customers will spot familiar local names such as Hobart Brewing Co, Lark Distillery, Willie Smith, Josef Chromy, and Moorilla. On the cocktail list, native ingredients star in the Kunzea Gin Fizz and the Pepperberry Passionfruit Margarita, while five carefully curated non-alcoholic cocktails offer something celebratory for those choosing to abstain from alcohol.

Paul Waterson, Australian Venue Co CEO, said the full venue restoration has aimed to blend the best of Hobart’s heritage with the feel of an everyday pub that locals and tourists alike can enjoy.

Stephen Bourke, who is the joint owner of the building with Brendan Bourke, said they were excited to re-open their family pub.

The lease to AVC was negotiated by Mr John Blacklow, Commercial Sales & Leasing Southern Tasmania Knight Frank.
