Frasers Hospitality, a strategic business unit of Frasers Property, today announced the appointment of Chew Hang Song as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Ian Loe as the Managing Director, Technology and Innovation, effective 1 October 2024.
Mr. Chew will succeed Mark Chan, who is retiring from his role on 30 September after over four years with Frasers Hospitality. These executive appointments are intended to advance the organisation’s growth strategy and strengthen its market leadership in the lodging sector.
Mr. Chan played an instrumental role in Frasers Hospitality’s journey, joining the organisation in 2020 to steer through the challenges of the pandemic. He spearheaded several key initiatives vital to the transformation of the business including elevating guest experiences and streamlining operational efficiencies.
Ms. Eu Chin Fen, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality said, “My heartfelt gratitude to Mark for his strong dedication and I wish him a fulfilling, well-deserved retirement.
With this refresh of our leadership bench, I am confident that Hang Song and Ian will build upon the foundation laid by Mark, and continue to accelerate our growth trajectory by leveraging innovation, technology, and strategic expansion of our portfolio.”
In his new role, Mr. Chew will oversee the operational strategy and financial performance of Frasers Hospitality’s portfolio of over 100 properties spanning more than 20 countries.
Since joining Frasers Hospitality in March 2019 as Deputy Country General Manager of China, Mr. Chew has risen to become the Cluster Head for North Asia. He led the formation of the North Asia cluster office and successfully expanded the portfolio across key cities in China, significantly strengthening its footprint in the Chinese market.
As Deputy COO, Mr. Chew worked alongside Mr. Chan on the development and execution of the strategic growth plan, while implementing key corporate initiatives to boost overall competitiveness of Frasers Hospitality.
As Frasers Hospitality’s new Managing Director of Technology and Innovation, Mr. Loe will lead and execute Frasers Hospitality’s global IT infrastructure and transformation, as well as the innovation strategy to enhance its capabilities and elevate the guest, resident and employee experience across its growing lodging portfolio.
Leveraging the strengths and platforms of the broader Frasers Property Group, Mr. Loe is tasked to drive synergies and foster innovation to enhance Frasers Hospitality’s operational excellence and market leadership.
Mr. Loe brings nearly three decades of extensive digital transformation experience, having driven technology and innovation across a wide range of industries, including the public sector, manufacturing and financial services.
Prior to joining Frasers Hospitality, Mr. Loe held leadership positions in several conglomerates and most recently served Chief Information Officer at DFI Retail Group, where he was responsible for foundational technologies in the business. He is also an active adjunct senior fellow at the Singapore University of Technology & Design.
“At Frasers Hospitality, we take pride in delivering life-enriching experiences to our guests, and I am confident both Hang Song and Ian will help build upon the strong progress we have made in the lodging business, maintaining the high standards of excellence we are renowned for,” said Ms. Eu.
