Kittawa Retreat
The new two-bedroom Kittawa Retreat has been designed for shared escapes without compromising on privacy, expanding Kittawa Lodge’s offering to family and friend groups, or couples who simply want to enjoy the extra space. Building on the acclaimed hospitality of Kittawa Lodge, owners Aaron Suine and Nick Stead are excited to unveil Kittawa Retreat, elevating their signature approach to seclusion and service, they share,
“Our vision for Kittawa Retreat was to create an experience that feels both deeply personal and uniquely Tasmanian. Every detail, from the curated artwork to the plush, layered interiors, has been designed to immerse guests in comfort, beauty, and the raw natural splendour of King Island.”
Set on 96 acres of untouched coastal landscape, Kittawa Lodge invites guests to experience the wild beauty of King Island – located between Tasmania and mainland Australia – offering dramatic seascapes to windswept dunes. The new Kittawa Retreat adds to the already two one-bedroom Lodges on the property, which have been architecturally designed to maximise natural light and a connection to the outdoors, whilst still offering complete privacy. With a deep commitment to sustainability, Kittawa Lodge operates off-grid while maintaining a sense of effortless indulgence — luxury here is about simplicity, authenticity, and tranquility.
Inside, each lodge features floor-to-ceiling windows, framing breathtaking coastal views, and bespoke interiors, hand-crafted furniture, premium Cultiver linens, and a designer European wood-burning fireplace. Bathrooms are fitted with rain showers and deep soaking tubs, and a fully equipped designer kitchen allows guests to enjoy the finest King Island produce in their own space, at their own pace.
Kittawa Lodge Guest Chef Series
May/June and July/August will see the return of Kittawa Lodge’s ‘Guest Chef Series’ – unforgettable three-night culinary escapes, which each blend luxury, adventure, and world-class dining in the heart of Tasmania’s wild beauty. Hosted by two of Australia’s best chefs - Rosheen Kaul (former Head Chef of Etta and award-winning author) and LK Hospitality Culinary Director, Stephen Nairn (Omnia, Yugen, YTB), the two three-night packages are available for up to eight guests at a time, perfect for one group of friends, a family or separate parties taking up each of the three accommodations.
Guests will indulge in a menu curated by Kaul and Nairn showcasing King Island’s premium local produce. Guests will enjoy daily breakfasts, gourmet picnics and intimate dinners in each guest’s private lodge, paired with premium Tasmanian wines. Signature Kittawa Lodge snacks will be available as well as a curated selection of local wines, cocktails, and spirits, and an AWD vehicle for island exploration complete this exclusive experience.
