Gordon McGregor of Resort Brokers New Zealand has taken to market the freehold going concern of Palmlea Farms Resort, consisting of 20 acres on Fiji's second largest island, Vanua Levu.
Eco tourism has been a developing sector for the last decade, but add the agricultural element to the equation and you have a very exciting concept.
Palmlea Farms Resort has a number of profit centres from food, beverage, accommodation, mooring, tours and agriculture. However "profit is not the key ingrediant here - this is a heavonly place to live and get some income." explains brokering agent Gordon McGregor.
"On the accommodation side there are 4 deluxe villas supported by a 25 metre lap pool fruit trees, organic tropical gardens, jungle trails, private boat jetty."
The food and beverage side is largely centred around the island themed restaurant and bar.
"The fully licensed restaurant offers fine gourmet meals for all tastes: European, Fijian, Indian and vegetarian."
"The resort grows its own pineapples, melons, cassava, dalo and papaya. Seafood is fresh and comes from local fishermen." Continues McGregor.
The Fijian style villas, made of native hardwoods and pine covered in woven bamboo, feature large covered verandahs to catch the cooling trade winds.
"All villas overlook the spectacular palms and beautiful blue ocean. Deluxe one and two bedroom villas are furnished with queen or king-size beds and private bath. All villas are fly-screened and equipped with fans."
"The owners accommodation is very generous and means that you and your family will be more than comfortable in paradise."
"The resort owners have worked diligently to create a farm that embraces both traditional farming and permaculture methods as well as modern rooting and propagation techniques. The organic farm is the only one of its kind on Vanua Levu."
Palmlea provides cooking lessons, massages, diving, snorkeling, fishing, and surfing excursions.
