Two properties in one of Perth’s most popular tourist destinations, the Swan Valley for sale by Jonathan Wong and Tony Delich of Knight Frank. The Swan Valley Oasis Retreat and Maanilinup Gallery for sale has development approval for a 103-room hotel which is partially completed.
Two properties in one of Perth’s best known and most popular tourist destinations, the Swan Valley, around 20 to 25 kilometres northeast of the Perth CBD, have hit the market.
The Swan Valley Oasis Retreat and Maanilinup Gallery, which sits on a 4.05ha site at 10,700 West Swan Road in Henley Brook, based on an expression of interest campaign.
This property has development approval for a 103-room hotel which is partially completed. The site also incorporates an art gallery showcasing a curated collection of Aboriginal Art, residential accommodation and six chalet units.
It is being taken to the market via a Private Treaty campaign run by Jonathan Wong and Tony Delich of Knight Frank on behalf of the vendor, the Hanssen family, which has owned and operated the site since 1989.
The agents are also marketing another property ripe for a tourism development or horticulture five minutes down the road, at 5080 West Swan Road in West Swan, with an asking price of $2.65 million plus GST.
The large 17.6 acre property, which is opposite the Margaret River Chocolate Company and close to other well-known tourist landmarks including Lancaster Wines and Yahava Koffeeworks, is being taken to the market via a Private Treaty campaign on behalf of the vendor, a local private.
The site, which has a massive frontage of 100 metres to West Swan Road, is essentially unimproved except for a large workshop storage shed located to the rear of the site.
Mr Wong said both properties offered the opportunity for buyers to undertake a development in one of Perth’s best known and most popular tourist destinations, the Swan Valley.
“We expect a range of buyers to be attracted to these properties, including developers, investors and owner-occupiers or entrepreneurs possibly looking to build a tourist attraction in a prime tourist location, among other potential uses,” he said.
“The Swan Valley Oasis Retreat property is coming to the market for the first in over three decades, and offers an unparalleled opportunity to own a unique resort complex.
“A partially-built hotel awaits completion, presenting an opportunity for a future owner to tailor the final design and create a new visionary hotel in one of Perth's best major tourist destinations.”
Mr Delich said the property at 5080 West Swan Road was essentially a blank canvas, ripe for development in a tourist haven, with the zoning allowing for multiple uses.
“This is a unique opportunity in the Swan Valley to create an enterprise the meets the demand for ever-growing tourism in the area,” he said.
“The site is surrounded by the many attractions afforded to visitors attracted to the popular Swan Valley, including numerous wineries, eateries and small artisan businesses plus other tourist attractions like Supa Golf.
“The rear of the site has a Swan River aspect, and the site has easy access to major transport corridors including the Reid Highway which provides direct linkage to Roe Highway to the east and to the western suburbs of Perth, including the Tonkin Highway.
“This site offers a balance of country living and an abundance of amenities in the vicinity. The Midland and Caversham Town Centres are close by, offering many shopping and retail selections.”
