Taunton Farm Holiday Park sold As G’day Group further expand its Discovery Parks network in Western Australia with latest Discovery Parks acquisition.
Australia’s leading regional tourism company, G’day Group, has further expanded its Discovery Parks network in Western Australia with the acquisition of Taunton Farm Holiday Park in the renowned Margaret River tourism region.
Located just 15 minutes north of the Margaret River township, the park is centrally located to many of the region’s attractions.
It is less than 10 minutes’ drive from popular destinations including Vasse Felix Winery and the Margaret River Chocolate Co. and nearby many of the region’s iconic beaches.
The 17.6-hectare property, which was established in 1992, is the largest holiday park in the region and features 81 tourist and 18 cabins.
Located adjacent to a working livestock property, the park offers a unique farm stay experience with daily animal feeding and a range of other family friendly amenities, including an adventure playground and jumping pillow.
The acquisition is the Group’s second in as many months, after it added Discovery Parks – Moama Waters in New South Wales to its portfolio in late April.
G’day Group now operates 88 holiday parks and resorts around Australia, with property assets valued in excess of $1.5 billion.
“We are thrilled to welcome Taunton Farm Holiday Park into our Discovery Parks portfolio,” said G’day Group Chief Executive Officer and Founder Grant Wilckens.
“Margaret River is one of Australia's premier tourism destinations, and this acquisition underlines our focus on providing exceptional holiday experiences in the country’s most sought-after regional destinations.
“Taunton Farm offers a distinctive blend of natural beauty and family-friendly activities. With its farm stay experiences and proximity to the region’s famous wineries, beaches and other attractions, its offering is well suited to our key family market.”
G’day Group will initially invest approximately $1 million on general improvements at the property.
With a substantial amount of available land and pre-installed infrastructure for an additional seven cabins, the park also offers scope for future development works.
“Our initial investment will focus on enhancing the existing facilities to ensure they meet the high standards our guests expect in a Discovery Parks property,” Grant said.
“Additionally, we see significant potential for future development, which will allow us to offer even more accommodation options and amenities in the coming years.”
Following the acquisition by G’day Group, the park will join the company’s Discovery Parks network as Discovery Parks – Margaret River.
