The Yarra Valley is preparing to welcome its first all-suite luxury hotel with news that the architecturally designed Levantine Hill Hotel, is set to open in June 2025 and will be part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection.
Nestled amongst the rolling hills of award-winning Levantine Hill Estate, and a complement to the winery’s existing cellar door, fine-dining restaurant and events centre, the new boutique hotel will offer 33 beautifully appointed suites over two levels, each with its own living area, study and private balcony with stunning views over the vineyards and rolling hills.
In addition, eight of the suites will feature expansive circular baths while the Optume Suite will feature its own dressing room, open fireplace, cellar and bar, making it the perfect Executive retreat, or bridal suite and cocoon for couples.
Designed by world-renowned Australian architects, FK (formerly Fender Kastalidis), the striking, undulating hotel embodies the “Genius Loci” as a guiding principle of Karl Fender’s approach for Levantine Hill.
Drawing inspiration from wine barrels, the restrained and sophisticated design aligns with its function and placement in the landscape.
Nestled into the downhill slope, the pavilion, finished in exposed concrete, complemented with a fine grain latticework of
bronze metallic screens which subtly blends into its surroundings, the carefully positioned windows and rooms offer uninterrupted views of Coldstream's picturesque rolling hills.
FK worked with Levantine Hill, award-winning Australian firm Sora Interior Architecture and Design, and Jardan furniture on furniture procurement, to bring the envisioned interior design to life.
The outcome is a palette of robust, raw elements, including exposed concrete, timber joinery and panelling, accented by silver fixtures and leather upholstery.
With a strong commitment to sustainability, the hotel has been built using a range of natural materials throughout, as well as plants for privacy, the implementation of water harvesting and purification.
Further enhancing the first-class experience, guests can enjoy access to multiple onsite heli-pads, fully equipped indoor gym, an outdoor exercise area and a 1.5 km walking sculpture track which winds through the sculpture-filled gardens brimming with over 30 pieces of internationally created sculptures while complimentary continental breakfast and a fully-stocked mini-bar are included in every stay.
