Adjoining the internationally renowned Hagley Park in Central Christchurch, Chateau on the Park is a landmark 4-star hotel, offered for sale via an Expression of Interest process through JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group.
The ‘trophy’ hotel asset is enjoyed by a wide range of guests, with 192 well-appointed guest rooms ranging from King guest rooms to the Park Suite.
Established in 1975, the upscale Hotel has regularly had sporting groups, including international Rugby Union, Rugby League, cricket, and football teams due to its proximity to Hagley Park as well as the use of the Hotel grounds for exercise and training.
After its $8 million major refurbishment and the rebrand to the Double Tree by Hilton in 2016, the Hotel has consistently outperformed its competitors. During the pandemic, it lent itself well to a managed isolation facility and is now well-positioned to move forward as international and domestic travel returns to Christchurch.

The Hotel is complemented with a significant restaurant, which is popular with Christchurch locals. The Hotel has a wide range of conference facilities, including total event space of approx. 1,027 sqm, as well as swimming pool and attractive outdoor spaces.
In addition, the Hotel is accompanied by approximately 0.7 hectares of development land, currently consented for a mixture of 42 apartments and 12 townhouses. The development land can be acquired with the Hotel or sold separately.

The property is located just off the main arterial route from the Christchurch International Airport to the city centre. It is easily accessed by a wide range of transport. Christchurch International Airport is approximately 15 minutes from the Hotel, while Christchurch Central Business District is a 5-minute drive away, or a pleasant walk through Hagley Park.
