According to Leon Alaban, National Director, Hotels at Savills Australia, “The Hotel offers diverse revenues streams, and the consistent income is derived from local residents and the thriving local mining industry; the epicentre of which is located within walking distance from the Hotel.
“The property is adjacent to the Mount Isa mine, capturing business from locals and visitors alike”, he continued.
Mount Isa is situated in Queensland’s Outback, affectionately known as the ‘oasis of the outback’ and is home to one of the most productive single mines in world history, Mount Isa Mines (MIM) specialising in lead, copper, silver and zinc.

The Mount Isa region is known for the mining and resources sector, but the town is a major northern Australian hub for health services including the Flying Doctor, education services such as School of the Air, James Cook University and TAFE, government and administrative services, transport and agriculture.
Christian Tsalikis, Senior Sales Executive, Hotels at Savills Australia said the Hotel is just nine minutes from the Mount Isa Airport, which services regional Queensland towns, and major cities of Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane.
“Mount Isa Mines” operate two (2) separate mines; copper and zinc-lead-silver. This mine is the most significant landmark in Mount Isa due to the size of the stack from the lead smelter which stands 270m* tall, making it visible from up to 40km* away” he said.
