The Hawkesbury River hideaway was originally built as a private retreat for businessman Rene Rivkin and formerly owned by Australia’s ‘Father of Fast Food’ Bob Lapointe, before being sold to the current owners, show horse identity Glenn North and wife Louise Cordina in 2017.
North and Cordina expanded Sentry Rock into a private resort that is currently earning $25,000 per week (approx.) on luxury stays. The property is on the market with a price guide of $12 million.
Deborah Cullen told WILLIAMS MEDIA, “Every now and then, you get to step inside a very special estate that just sweeps you away to another place. Sentry Rock is just that.
From the moment those beautiful timber gates close behind you, the serenity of the natural environment is so powerful you can’t help but exhale."

"The rarity continues with the incredible size of this estate balanced out beautifully by small intimate private areas to escape to for work or play. Especially perfect for those with large boats and helicopters, this estate provides the ultimate playground experience with many travel options on offer from the city, being fast or enjoying the journey more slowly.
Ultimately, there is only one Sentry Rock and we are so delighted to be able to share its story and search for its next custodian.” Deborah Cullen continued.

The main lodge features six bedroom suites, a cinema room, a cellar carved from natural sandstone, a sauna, pool, jacuzzi and extensive interior and exterior living spaces.
The estate also includes a separate manager’s home, a clubhouse, workshop, two waterfalls, pizza oven, fire pits, boat ramp and one of Sydney’s largest private vessel berths at 30 metres long.
Mr North, who purchased Sentry Rock in 2017, said he first found the home when looking specifically for an acreage property with direct access to the water.
“We had a waterfront property at the time, but it just wasn’t enough space. I started to wonder if the best of both worlds existed - the space of an acreage but with the lifestyle of a waterfront.

“I thought that it probably didn’t exist and couldn’t really believe what we’d found when first seeing Sentry Rock.
“The specific location on the Hawkesbury means that not only are you surrounded by thousands of acres of National Park that makes you feel a thousand miles away, but it’s only 30 to 40 minutes by boat to Palm Beach, Cottage Point, Berowra Waters and with access to the whole Cowan, Pittwater, Brisbane Waters and Hawkesbury waterways.”

Mr North said Sentry Rock’s most outstanding feature is the incredible level of detail in every hand-crafted element.
“Each caretaker of Sentry Rock has added their own elements in a way that respects the building, the unique location and the legacy of those before them,” he said.
The result is a cohesive tapestry of rustic and contemporary, luxury with enveloping warmth and character off the charts, said Cullen.

“Walking through the lodge, you feel the heart and soul of those who have contributed to and honoured it,” she says.
“You can see ‘RR’ initials still carved into handmade hickory furniture, there is flooded gum timber panelling adorning the walls that was milled from trees planted by Mr Lapointe’s father and bronzes owned by both Rivkin and North are permanently landscaped into the gardens.
“Framed by expansive lawns, sculptured garden art and mature native gardens, Mr North has fastidiously landscaped the estate to elevate the beautiful river lodge to show piece status.”

Trent Iverson said the Hawkesbury was an area that had seen tremendous growth in 2020 by Sydneysiders wanting to work from home and still have easy access to Sydney CBD, with particularly significant increase in attention from high net worth, corporate tree-change buyers in the light of the global pandemic.
“We are currently experiencing a greater demand from clients seeking rare and unique riverfront estates. These clients are looking for manageable acreages with privacy and seclusion yet still within commutable distance to Sydney whether that be by air or road. Sentry Rock delivers on all these fronts.

“The Lower Hawkesbury has remained, up until recently, relatively undiscovered as we rarely see trophy properties such as Sentry Rock come to market. I have watched Sentry Rock evolve into a grand estate of magnificent proportions, steeped in history, and we are very excited to be part of the next chapter.”
The expressions of interest campaign for the property will close on December 11, unless sold prior.
