“This was one of Australia’s premier mansions of over 1000sqm (1825) which fell badly into disrepair until the owners from WA fell in love with it in 2004,” John Blacklow explained to The Hotel Conversation.

“They took it upon themselves whereby the whole property, the services, and the grounds were all completely restored to today’s magnificent splendour. It is now an up market 5-star boutique hotel right on the banks of the Derwent River and the most photographed building in New Norfolk.”
“It is such a pleasure showing people through – every suite is totally unique and the history adorns the walls and passageways.”

Woodbridge is located in New Norfolk, 32 kilometres north of Hobart and at the gateway to major Derwent Valley tourist attractions.
“New Norfolk has come a long way in the last 15 years. For years it was known as the town with the large mental asylum which closed some time ago. It is now ranked as the no 3 tourist town in Australia,” John told The Hotel Conversation.

The owners of Woodbridge have another Tasmanian hospitality property for sale on the banks of the Derwent River, Truffle Lodge, a safari-inspired ‘glamping’ property described as a "5-star hotel under canvas".
