The most recent research released by Savills Hotels reveals that Australia's average RevPAR has seen an increase of 3.9%, with Darwin (up 18.3%), Cairns (up 6.9%) and the Gold Coast (up 6.5%) the stand out performers.
Queenstown and Auckland record strong RevPAR growth
Savills Hotels has reported that New Zealand wide RevPAR has increased 9.7%, with Queenstown and Auckland continuing to perform strongly recording RevPAR growth of 18.6% and 8.0%, respectively.

According to the report, hotels in Sydney and Melbourne are experiencing unprecedented trading performance, however there was a relative dearth of sales activity in 2017 with national transaction values down 35% compared to the 2016 calendar year.
Australia records second highest hotel transaction volume in Asia Q3 2017
The total APAC hotel investment volume surged in Q3/2017 to US$4.77 billion, making this quarter the most active in 2017 so far, with Australia recording the second-highest transaction volumes with AU$496.4 million according to Savills November 2017 Hotel Research.
