Construction is now underway on Sydney’s first Little National brand hotel, boosting the CBD’s accommodation options and providing visitors with affordable luxury in a prime location when it opens next year.
Canberra-based developers Doma will introduce the award-winning, innovative Little National concept to Sydney as part of its growing national hotel business.
Rooms in Little National hotels are designed to offer 5-star amenity in the heart of the CBD at an affordable rate.
“Our approach to developing Little National hotels is to make them somewhere people can stay, both long and short-term, with everything they need to be exceptionally comfortable, while encouraging them to really enjoy their surrounds. While this is attractive to all types of visitors, business travellers in particular have embraced Little National,” Doma Managing Director, Jure Domazet explained.
“In Sydney, we expect Little National’s pedestrian connections will enable guests to explore the city and experience all it has to offer.”

Following its completion in 2020, Little National will have underground pedestrian connections through the Wynyard Station entrance on Clarence Street to George Street, Barangaroo and Martin Place.
This connection was a key consideration for project architects, Bates Smart.
“The Little National Hotel demonstrates that value can be created through the intersection of infrastructure, public space and private development,” said Bates Smart Director, Guy Lake.
Creating destinations and amenity adjacent to transport hubs enriches the contribution of development to urban life.”
Hutchison Builders has recently erected the crane for construction of Little National Sydney and in the next few weeks site establishment will be completed, which is the first phase of the 12-month construction program. Meanwhile, the Doma Hotels team are mobilising to welcome guests in Autumn of next year.

“We believe Little National will be a positive addition to Sydney’s accommodation options,” Mr Domazet said.
As at June 2018, Sydney had the country’s highest hotel occupancy rates, but the third lowest supply pipeline, according to research by Colliers International.
“Sydney is a key place for people to do business and one of our favourite visitor destinations,” Mr Domazet said. “Positioned as it will be, above Wynyard Station, guests will be able to easily catch a train to Little National from the airport, which will contribute to the overall visitor experience.”
The 12-storey hotel will have 230 luxurious rooms, a guest gym, library and exclusive rooftop lounge and bar.
