Harvest Hotels has unveiled another pub redevelopment, with The Milestone Hotel in Dubbo reopening its doors to patrons following the completion of a six-week refurbishment in late December.
Designed to breathe new life into this circa 1881 quintessential corner pub, the renovations have maximised The Milestone’s existing footprint, creating a welcoming and vibrant space while preserving the building’s heritage.
Key upgrades focus on the street level of the three-story venue, where the in-venue bottle shop has been removed to make way for a brand-new public bar, complete with top-of the-line viewing and wagering facilities. This has enabled the bistro to expand across the remainder of the area, offering greater capacity, comfort and spaces for diners to enjoy. Throughout the venue, timeless new furniture, fixtures, and equipment complete the refreshed look, elevating the pub’s atmosphere and experience, cementing it as the new go-to pub in town
Improvements extend beyond the aesthetics with operational upgrades such as a revamped menu, curated by Harvest Group Executive Chef Michael Munro, a new lineup of weekly activities, entertainment, and exclusive promotions for Harvest Gold loyalty members complementing the new look and feel.
Harvest Hotels Co-founder and Chief Development Officer, Fraser Haughton, designed the project after strong assessment of the local pub market.
“There’s plenty of great, large format pubs in Dubbo, but what makes The Milestone unique is its prime location and features like the heritage façade and sandstone chambers. We wanted to draw from these elements to create a pub with distinctive character – part classic corner pub, part freshly transformed venue – that can now take its place as everyone’s favourite new local.
“Whether they’re a nearby worker looking for an afternoon drink, someone who’s in town and looking for a quick lunch stop between jobs, or a visitor to the Dubbo region, we want everyone to want to walk through the doors of The Milestone, knowing they’re in for a good, authentic pub experience no matter the occasion.”
Acquired by Harvest in 2021, The Milestone is one of the group’s thirteen venues and the fifth to undergo redevelopment over the past twelve months. It joins a growing list of revitalised assets, including Wagga’s William Farrer Hotel (reopened in April), Albury’s Northside Hotel (reopened in July), Adelaide’s Aussie Inn (relaunched in early November), and the recently re-opened Woy Woy Hotel, which celebrated the completion of a major $7 million capital works project mid-December.
