Opportunity to buy the iconic Kooralbyn Resort Queensland earmarked for the Olympic Village.
The iconic Kooralbyn Resort in Queensland is up for sale by the owner, Peter Huang.
Mr Huang said it was a unique offering with the property placed in the World’s top ten holiday hotspots.
The resort has been signed up as the Olympic Village for Brisbane 2032, with around 1,000 extra beds to be built on the resort land by the Olympic Committee at an estimated investment of $200 million to $300 million, said Mr Peter Huang.
In the centre of the Scenic Rim, the property ranks top 10 holiday hotspots in the world by the travel bible Lonely Planet for the year 2022, the only one on the list from Australia.
The property consists a massive 327 hectares or 808 acres of land within the emerging community zoning, on 27 lots over 30 buildings, amalgamated over the years after tens of millions of dollars were invested.
Mr Huang said the property is situated in a Golden Triangle location between Brisbane and Gold Coast, surrounded by famous mountains lakes and is a popular international tourist and golf destination.
The 102-room main resort has the largest rammed-earth eco-construction in the southern hemisphere along with the 30-room Packer Lodge where Kerry Packer used to stay and play polo.
There is also the award-winning pool complex, a 230-seat restaurant and 240-seat convention/wedding centre and popular Pavilion tavern for both guests, golfers and locals with TAB, Keno and Foxtel.
Mr Huang commented that the pokies application's public advertising has been completed now adding that the approval should be coming.
Further attractions include a private airport with 1.4km resurfaced runway for drag racing, skydiving, scenic flights, flying school, etc., with adjoining land for airpark hangar homes.
The championship golf course is ranked #22 and #24 respectively in Australia with Greg Norman as its previous tour pro whilst it was also the home course of the world no 1 Adam Scott and Jason Day.
There are two championship polo/equestrian/rodeo fields plus rodeo, equestrian and racetracks plus over 100 stables for holiday guests.
Championship Mountain Biking Park holds regular events every few weeks and is the official venue for Oceania Games and the International School building produced two young Australians of the year: Cathy Freeman and Scott Hocknell.
There is also a half-finished snow ski lodge to be converted to eco-lodge or other uses. Other attractions include the Garden of Eden, animal feeding, putt-putt, lawn bowls, 4-wheel driving track and tennis centre.
Mr Huang said a previous DA for stage 1 subdivision has been allowed to lapse and is now in the planning stage for around 1000 over 50s retirement villages which are more appropriate for the iconic location.
Close to Australia's largest inland port - Bromelton, where potentially 35,000 jobs will be created as per the state government plan to further boost the resort business, any development should provide profit and capital gain.
Mr Huang said the property presented a great corporate asset for potential public listing or as a rare addition to HNWI or fund managers' portfolio.
